Effective Date: 28 July 2026 | Version 1.0
Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you visit a website or use an online platform. They are widely used to make websites and applications work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.
Cookies can be:
- Session cookies — temporary files that are deleted when you close your browser or log out
- Persistent cookies — files that remain on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them
- First-party cookies — set by Peoplewise directly
- Third-party cookies — set by external services that appear on or support our platform (such as analytics tools)
Similar tracking technologies, such as web beacons, pixels and local storage, may also be used. References to “cookies” in this Policy include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.
2. How We Use Cookies
Peoplewise uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at peoplewise.in and within the Peoplewise platform for the following purposes:
- To ensure the website and platform function correctly
- To keep you securely logged in during your session
We do not currently use cookies for analytics, personalisation or advertising purposes, and we do not sell cookie data to third parties. If this changes, we will update this Policy in advance.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Peoplewise website and platform to operate. Without them, core functions such as logging in, navigating the platform and maintaining your session cannot work. These cookies do not require your consent and cannot be disabled through our cookie settings.
Examples of what these cookies do:
- Authenticate your login session and keep you securely signed in
- Maintain your session state as you navigate through the platform
- Enable security features such as CSRF protection
- Remember items in your account settings during a session
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| pw_session | Peoplewise | Keeps you securely signed in | Persistent | 7 days |
3.2 Functional Cookies
We do not currently use functional cookies. If we introduce them in future — for example, to remember your display or language preferences — we will update this section with details of the specific cookies used before doing so.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies, and no analytics tool (such as Google Analytics) is presently integrated into the Service. If we introduce analytics cookies in future, we will update this section with details of the specific cookies used and, where required, will only set them with your consent.
3.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies
Peoplewise does not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not track Users across third-party websites, and we do not share data with advertising networks or use cookies to serve targeted advertisements.
4. Third-Party Cookies
The Service does not currently set any third-party cookies. If we integrate third-party tools in future that set cookies on our platform — for example, an analytics provider, a payment processor such as Razorpay once paid subscriptions launch, or a customer support tool — we will list them here in advance of doing so.
We recommend reviewing the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party provider we introduce for details of how they handle your data.
5. Cookie Consent
The Service currently uses only strictly necessary cookies, which do not require your consent and are active regardless of your choice — so no cookie consent banner is shown today.
Before we introduce any functional, analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will add a cookie consent banner and will only set those cookies if you have given your consent.
You can control cookies at any time through your browser settings, as described in Section 6 below.
6. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser
In addition to our in-platform cookie settings, you can control cookies through your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete cookies that have been set on your device
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block all cookies from all websites
- Be alerted when a website tries to set a cookie
Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of the Peoplewise platform, including your ability to log in and use core features.
Guidance on managing cookies in common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. There is currently no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
At present, Peoplewise does not alter its data collection or use practices in response to DNT signals. We will review this position as industry standards develop.
8. Cookies and Personal Data
Some of the cookies we use may be associated with personal data (for example, a session cookie linked to your logged-in account). Where cookies involve the processing of personal data, this is governed by our Privacy Policy and by applicable data protection law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India).
Cookie data that is not linked to an identifiable individual is treated as non-personal data. We use this data in aggregate form to understand and improve the Service.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, the technologies available, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, notify you via the platform or by email.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
